Experience: ·
NOC Engineer I, Monitored and maintained service for 120+
cell site. Monitored for alarms from E-bands, Eclipse Radios and True
Point 5200 & 6500, and Cielo radio’s. Monitored alarms because low
RSL’s because of poor weather or equipment failure/ODU or RAC/DAC card
failure. Monitored local power for disruption causing battery alarms. Site
management for open door alarms to determine schedule or authorized
access. ·
Worked as Outside Plant (OSP/ISP) Field Engineer,
maintaining present US communication, working with end user and network
administrators, NCC & TCF/NOC to correct loss of service on fiber
network. Investigating Cisco 2950/2970/6500 Access/Distro switches for
layer one service. Activation of services: MDU/Secured Secret
Internet/DSN telephone access, along with standard internet/VOIP/telephone. ·
OSP Engineer, responsible for meeting with the building
management/commanders. Acquirement permits from major cell/local and
governments agencies, for digging/manhole access/building penetration.
Buried utilities locations gas/electric/sewer/water/telephone. ·
Training of United States Army/Marines to preformed site
survey, structured cabling, j-hooks, and installation of Telephone Copper
& Fiber Optic Systems. Termination of 2-pr up to 2400-pr copper and from
6stran up to 288+ stran single mode fiber. Project review to ensure
requirements will meet the current needs of the customer. Locate fiber
& copper plant to avoid construction accidents. Teach as needed
when an unknown part of the installation was encountered. ·
Field test equipment use includes Sunrise Telecom Sunset
Test set and Analyzers, JDSU Test set and OTDR, JDSU T-Bird, Fluke Data
Analyzer, these are just a few of many types available. Power meters used
most often were Noyes OPM and Fluke. ·
Spliced copper with pick-a-bonds and 710 equipment.
Fiber was spliced with various fusion equipment. Test and termination
of 25pr to 66 blocks, 110 blocks, and Krone modular termination. ·
With blue prints in hand; perform site survey to determine
cable path in floors and ceiling, install J-Hooks and Ap’s. Install and
termination & testing of Cat5, 5A, 6, at office locations and various
patch panels and switches. Termination and test of Cat 5/6 to Panduit Minicom
& Leviton wall mount jacks. ·
3M hot melt and some uni-cam fiber connectors, SC/ST/LC
used most often. ·
Follow Bell Core/BICSI industry/construction standards
within local policys. ·
Responsible for isolation of communication problems up to
and including: Voice Grade/AD/DS0/DDS/DS1/DS3/OC-192 system. ·
Worked directly with customer and vender and local exchange
carrier to isolate and solved user problems. ·
Knowledgeable of WAN/LAN/Data switched and voice switched
operation. ·
Knowledge of IP testing (I.E. Ping, FTP, etc.)
through routers and gateways for fault isolation. Coordinated with
engineering on ·
Schematics deficiencies for customer and network
efficiency. ·
Provisioning of DS0 thru OC192/DWDM systems, with test and
turn up of services, work with Engineers/Venders form customer or company. ·
Assisted with the training of lesser skill set technicians
with test set software and application of frame relay switch operation. ·
Experienced in the following DACCS (Digital Access Cross
Connect Systems ): DSC; 1x0; ESC; 1x0; 5500 Tellabs; Alcatel 1630 and 1631
3x0. ·
Experienced in the following voice switches Nortel DMS
250/500 DEX 600/400. Data switches: ATM; Cisco BPX, MGX8850, Lucent CBX500;
Frame relay; Lucent STDX 9000 edge switches ·
Experienced with the following software for testing and
